Description

Zinc Sulphate 25kg

Zinc Sulphate heptahydrate granular powder is a simple source of zinc for where the nutrient is lacking.

Added to animal feeds in order to counteract zinc deficiencies.

Zinc is an essential growth factor for many strains of yeast.

Commonly used as a foot bath solution for cows and sheep.

 Usage:

The recommended dilution rate for Zinc Sulphate Footbath is 10%.

Adding 1kg of either copper or zinc sulphate to every 10 litres of solution in the footbath.

Copper sulphate and zinc sulphate is reusable over time unless excessively soiled or diluted by rainfall.

Treating footrot in sheep, increase the ratio to 1kg to 9 liters of water.

Daily treatment over 5 to 7 days is typically sufficient, provided that the sheep are moved to fresh pasture after treatment.

In severe cases, the dilution rate is increased to a maximum of 20%.

The solution depth should be at least 5 cm.

Footbath solution becomes heavily soiled with dirt and feces, it should be discarded.

Regularly measuring the strength of the footbath solution with a hydrometer is advisable, ideally twice daily.

For a 10% solution, the hydrometer reading should be between 1050 and 1060 units.

Adjustments by adding 2.5 kg of zinc sulphate per 100 liters of water to increase strength by 10 units or adding 25 liters of water per 100 liters to decrease strength by 10 units.

Before measuring, strain the solution through a stocking.

It’s recommended to mix the solution with a broom before each day’s foot bathing.

Hydrometers that indicate solution strength are available at battery retailers and some rural merchandisers.

Zinc sulphate may settle out overnight and mixed thoroughly mixed before each use.
