Description
Diamond Red Clover Silage Mix is an intensive silage mixture which is designed for 3-4 years, will continue as a normal grass sward with white clover afterwards. The white clover will fill spaces created by red clover dying out. This mixture can be grazed and important not to over graze red clover.
Clover will only provide Nitrogen to the sward. Other mineral requirements, especially P and K will need to be applied to match herbage off take. Huge potential to reduce chemical N in the production of winter fodder.
Diamond Red Clover Silage Mix produces high protein and high digestibility silage.
Tips:
Clover is heavier and more free flowing seed than grass seed, so it is important to calibrate seed drills before sowing.
Stock and machinery damage to sward can shorten lifespan of red clover – target field operations in dry spell.
Conservation of dry crop is more critical with a high clover sward – target lighter crops that are easier to wilt.
